Cob greetings

Greetings! I am new to this list.
I am building a cob hut in southern california. The walls are about nipple
high.
I'm very interested in wattle & daub but can find little factual information
about it anywhere in any alternative building literature. Can anyone give me
info on this?
It seems wattle & daub would go up faster than cob. It could be interim
housing while one built a cob house.
How long can wattle & daub last? Can you insulate it? Has anyone tried this?
What is its general practicability?
