The site is prepped for lots of activities. Lots of people are already at the site, and they are prepared for quite a turn-out of attendees. There are many projects ready for the Colloquium including: Modified Post and Beam straw-bale in fill. Post and Beam with apple box in fill. Gravel bag foundation built over a gravel plinth straw-bale Dome structure Straw-bale Garden wall on a gravel bag foundation on a rubble trench Composting toilet Earthen Floors Linseed Oil / plaster sealing of walls Photovoltaics Kayak building Dug-out canoe. Join us as we explore new and traditional building and design systems. The focus of the NBC-East will be the specific needs of natural building in the eastern U.S. and Canada: i.e., moisture, codes, finishes. The NBC-East format is "hands-on"!
