Cob workshop on Lasgueti Island, B.C.

 The Cob Cottage Company is offering "Heaven in Earth/Playing in Earth,
Spirit & Body" workshop from July 31 to August 6, 1998.  This is a
practical hands-on workshop, which will focus on the building of a
cob/strawbale cottage on a rock bluff on Lasqueti Island, B.C., Canada.
Lasqueti is a small island located in the Straight of Georgia between
Parksville on Vancouver Island and Texada Island.
The cottage will include four windows designed according to sacred geometry
and a dome roof incorporating cedar boughs.  The building site is located
on a rocky bluff area with sensitive mosses, arbutus (madrone), cedar, fir,
hemlock, and pine trees.  A swamp nearby houses beavers and a rocky beach
is 10 minutes away.
This workshop will include sacred sounds, dance and ceremony. Parents with
children age 13 and over are encouraged to participate.  Children will
work/play together with adults, as well as having their own separate
activities.
Workshop Fee:  $450/person (U.S. dollars - 10% discount available for
friends/family)
Camping Fee:    $8.00/tent/night (Canadian dollars)
Food:               Noon meal provided, other meals are your
responsibility.  Kitchen available at no extra
       charge.
