Can't you throw in a couple of cheap electric base board heaters that only get the circuit breakers turned on just long enough to satisfy code or insurance folks?  I've seen this trick done before and it works great.  Even if you are on PV, your Home Power system can run them just long enough to get the job done.

Is the space heater UL listed?  Is it the through the wall vented kind?  I should think one of these would of worked also.  They make the double walled extension vents for them that protrude through a sb wall.

Any suggestions for finding homeowners insurance for an earthen
plastered straw bale house with only a space heater for heat?  I had
builders risk through Farm Bureau but they won't insure a house with
only a space heater.
