Cob: Stones in cobJohn Daglish john.daglish at vnumail.comWed Jul 19 07:20:30 PDT 2000
Hello List Just down the road from my sister-in laws house in Eure (administrative region an hours drive from Paris, France) there are cob/earth fences (walls) with stones embedded in the surface (actually goes in a bit) on lots of fences to farm yards. This was a deliberate technique to reduce erosion along with the clay roof tile "roof" on the top of the wall and a mortared stone base (lime/sand mortar).
