Cob: straw clay insulation questions

There are still companies that make shredded newspaper insulation.  In
fact I know there is one in Grand Rapids, Michigan.

My other thought is lots of plain straw stuffed into the space and then
plastered with earthen plaster.  Or is that what you've been trying... I
wasn't clear about that.
