Cob: Power vs hand toolsTheodore L. Stacy tlstacy at niia.netSun Jul 23 05:49:30 PDT 2000
Strength can be had by wieght lifting. ONly a few weeks prior to beginning a project will give you surprising extra reserve and capacity. As for hand tools, they are much more comforting to the senses than screeming power tools. A person can actually take pleasure in the process of creating instead of reacting to the tool's noise. Just make sure that the saws yoiu use are correct for the job and very sharpe. Buy good quality. Cross cut saws for going across the wood grain and rip saws for cutting with the grain. You library should have books on saws and other woodworking tools. You could watch the Wainwright's show or get his (books?). Goodluck. -- Ted Stacy tlstacy at niia.net
