PYROMANIA AGAIN! BUILDING RUMFORD FIREPLACES COURSE
Feb. 9-11, 2001 at its site near Cottage Grove, Oregon

Count Rumford was a pyrogenius, friend of Ben Franklin’s. Two hundred
years ago he developed the cleanest-burning, most-efficient,
best-heating system for open-grate fires. The stove is so good nobody
has improved upon it. Traditionally, Rumford fireplaces are $10,000
specialist works in brick. CCC has developed a cob version that anyone
can build in two days for $50. We’ll build a Rumford fireplace start to
finish and explored many other aspects of combusion, comfort, and
heating our bodies not buildings, using our own several unique,
hand-built stoves as examples.

$200 fee includes materials, use of tools, camping space and all meals.
10% discount friends and families coming together, 10% full pay by
January 15. Limit 8 people.

Begins Friday at dark; ends Sunday afternoon.
