Cob: finishing a cob floor

Hello all,
I've been making practice bricks for pouring an earthen/cob floor. The
bricks have turned out well. However, the suggestion I had been giving for
putting on a finish was boiled linseed oil. I've tried this on my practice
bricks. Even after several coats it still keeps soaking in and still looks
very dry. Any suggestions?
