Cob: foundations/cob

I have a cob house on a conventional slab foundation.
no rebar, and the cob is sitting on a very smooth
surface.  I'm not in an earthquake prone area but I
can't imagine having any problems with the
cob/foundation connection otherwise.  

The only problem so far is that when it rains very
hard the water doesn't drain away and creeps up the
foundation and sometimes you can see the bottom of the
cob wall wicking up water- but I haven't put in
gutters or french drains yet and that will solve the
problem I'm sure
