News Release

December 29, 2001

Bangkok, Thailand,

Arts Brian Mantrop, of the "Enchanted Forest", near Westport Ontario has been invited by the ArtNouveau Foundation to represent them at an international conference at a secluded Ashram in Thailand.

The event will be the site of a world conference, lead by your Highness, the Dali Lama.

The focus of the conference is to explore the method of Cob Construction as the ultimate solutions for the worlds housing shortage. The Dali Lama will be invited to participate in the process, playing in the mudd.

Cob is the ultimate method of building as it consists completely of organic materials, mudd and straw, and its properties, being malleable as clay is, allow total freedom of design. This freedom allows the community to build together and grown organically, resulting in harmony and grace.

The organic formed windows can be in some cases, "pre-designed" using "state of the art technology" including 3-D modeling and CNC technology. The organic formed windows and doors are simply "staked" into position and the cob is built around them...

The process is such that the group of cobbers initially build an over sized building, and simply remove everything that isn't "Buddha".

Villages such as "Riverdale" were built this way, lasting for centuries, as cob has been rediscovered to be extremely "sustainable" in all aspects.

The Artnouveau Foundations, based in Soma sponsors projects that provide "Prime Examples of Sustainable Development.

Unfortunately Brian was forced to declined the invitation due to other commitments and recommended that Rubin Grekko go in his place.
