Hi, Sarah,

I am inteested in this subject too.  I found this booklet the other
day.  It has some good illustrations and such.  It is on frost-protected
shallow foundations, and shows how to build one according to principles
they use in Sweden.  It says that this foundation style has been
accepted by a number of building codes:
