Cob: cob book

hi, i thought i'd let you know about this cob book i've just finished 
reading.

it's titled 'Cob  Building in Earth' by Ron Edwards, 1997, The Rams Skull 
Press, Queensland, Australia. About 100 pages, sells for less than AUD$20 
($10US).

it covers the Devon style of cobbing, its history and it's possible 
applications in Australian conditions (aka cool to tropical). Ron is a bit 
of a mud expert with 4 or 5 books under his belt. he went to Devon in 1997 
and thoroughly explored the old buildings and methods there, learned from 
local experts and picked up some good skills at workshops.

i got this book at the local library (surprise!), but those in other parts 
could try www.earthgarden.com.au. they list other books by Ron Edwards and 
will be able to advise of availability of this one.

worth checking out.
