Hi Roger - in response to your message 22 Mar asking
about what all we are planning on doing at our planned
workshops (which by the way will be getting underway
June 3rd and be a continual running workshop through
the summer months with ending date around 1st of
November. We are seeking 100.00 a week for adult
participants and less for teenagers and younger
childern. This money is to help us defray the
expenses of food and other material we will be giving
to the participants. Participants will be sleeping and
eating within our house in progress.

As to plannd structures - we have a strawbale/cob
house now in work progress - plan on some minor walls,
a few decorative benches, electrical wiring of home,
cobbing inner walls of home, creating some room
dividers, and for the outside we are starting to
design, select, clear sites, and set foundations for
small cob cabins that eventually will be used by staff
members and students at our planned Cob Resource and
Learning Center - yes we are going to try to establish
an Alternative Building school here. Looking at
things - there is interest in the central part of the
country but nowhere, other than the far west coast,
are people teaching the cobbing techniques or other
alternative building programs - and because of the
great distance people have to travel to their
workshops, the costs, etc.,a lot of people have voiced
those concerns to us - so we are attempting to solve
some of the problem - so any suggestion in that
direction would certainly help. We are looking to
attract long term builders who will eventually become
leaders in their area and fan out across the mid part
of the country.

Anyway that's roughly what is planned. We need to
know who is coming, when they are coming and for how
long they are going to stay as soon as possible so we
can start planning or schedule - any help and anyone
wanting to know more can contact me at
bob_hutson at yahoo.com. For tose mildly interested in
what has been built thus far you can go to my web page

Bob & Terri Hutson the Arkansas Cobbers
