Cob: Flying ants? and red ants in new cob bench??????

Ants always go someplace dry during a rain spell.  You should know this,
if your a gardener for any
length of time.  They'll go back after the rain subsides I suspect. 
They'll go into your home as well, which they'd prefer if you have tasty
food morsels about.

You don't have a problem, so stop trying to make one.
You'd better see to the living quarters nearby.

You said you have holes in it.   I don't think cob has holes in it. 
Eventually, even if you did
have some, in the finishing these will be covered over.
