http://www.stastier.com/ http://www.transmineral.com/us.htm <<< sales rep in the USA Hello to all, I went to my first CASBA ( CA SBale) meeting this weekend and a French sales rep for hydraulic- hydrated limes was there to present. Skipping over WHAT is hydraulic lime IS for a minute I wanted to direct people to the website above..they have many articles in English, on Lime over cob, cements, etc..wonderful reading and very useful. OK- Hydraulic lime ia a natural lime stone containing clays that make it set up in WATER like portland cement does, but is pure, not processed as cement is. . It is only found in Europe now ( the US port cement makers control our USA mines for cement production), Regular hydrated lime plaster and mortar sets up in AIR- ( air carbonates) so this WATER lime can be used for a fast set in foundations, to mortar, in salt water environs that would kill port cement. BUT is is imported and expensive...and the company is impressive. I think an 80 lb sack of this lime is $37. + from CA. visit the links for some good free info. this is cross posted ...
