I'm not sure which experiments you mean, but the folks at the Cob Cottage
Company and the Earthwood Building School (Rob and Jaki Roy's school of
cordwood masonry) did some experiments with "cobwood" a few years ago.  I
emailed Rob a while back and he told me the results are promising and will
be detailed in his upcoming cordwood masonry book (due out later this year).
