Flaco, you and Amanda are right, there are no best areas. For solar there are far better areas than the pacific nw which has a lot of fog a lot of the year along the coast. It is also known for a lot of rain. Some people prefer dryer areas. But, as you said each area has its virtues and each person must decide according to their own criteria.
