Cob: wool as insulator?

Something in the back of my mind is shooting off a warning about wool. It 
must have been something I read long ago.
Aren't there pests that like wool that will eventually invade your house? Or 
maybe it's mold? Does wool get moldy?
I guess the questions to ask is: "Has anyone on this list used wool as an 
insulator, either in their walls or anywhere else, and found it satisfactory? 
What were the problems/benefits of using it?"
