[Cob] Oregon and WashingtonAmber Amber at BendNet.comSun Feb 29 18:09:51 PST 2004
Does anyone know if any county in Washington or Oregon west of the Cascades allows cob building? Or does anyone live in a cob house in any of these counties? I am looking into purchasing land so that I can eventually build a cob house on it within the next two years. If you did it without permits/building to code that is cool but how did you do it and how big is your dwelling? I don't want to purchase land (roughly 10 acres within a 30 min. radius to a fairly populated area) in an area and then find out that it is going to be impossible to build a cob home there. Here is the kicker I will probably need to have electricity (be on the grid it would be great if I don't have to be though) but do not want a sceptic system and am hoping to use rainwater as a source of water as well as having a grey-water system. Anyone have any information or have a source where I could find this information. Thank you, Amber amber at bendnet.com
