By 'stackwood' you mean Cordwood type stuff? We've worked with a solution that uses both Cob and 2x4 cutoffs from the construction dumpsters to make an insulated Cob wall/Cobwood/Cobscrap!!

Georgie here. I have been reading and learning from the coblist for a while 
too, while I continue my research into non-mainstream building techniques.
