Kenaf should be a great fiber, I have seen it at John Stahl's 
papermaking operation in Calif.  ( www.tree.org)   he makes Agstone-- a 
papercrete like material of chopped bark/weeds, sand and cement,  ( he 
has no clay to use at all) and some lime.

he had many types of fibers he has imported for his organic hand made 
papers, and he considered kenaf to be as good as hemp I remember.
