[Cob] thermal mass, insulation and "Ianto says"Buckaroo Bonzai tsuchimono at yahoo.comMon Aug 2 01:27:51 CDT 2004
The only exception to Shannon's statement is a home which uses thermal mass which has been designed to provide a six month lag time. The techniques are commonly referred to as passive annual heating system or annual geothermal systems. Additionally though not cob, the ancient near artic tribes used dug out rooms with bermed over roofs, during the winter. I presume they had a fire going inside, but , maybe a family huddled close together under layers of furs kept them warm when no fire was available. Cheers --- "Shannon C.
