A certification program in Permaculture principles & design, natural building, intensive hands-on practice, personal, group & public projects, community life, direct access to a network of specialists, and one-on-one internship opportunities.

3 Week Permaculture Certification Training: January 10 - January 29, 2005
3 Week Natural Building Training: February 14 - March 4, 2005
12 Week Full Practicum: January 10 - April 4, 2005

El Bolsón, Patagonia, Argentina

We are excited to present this opportunity for you to learn in the stunningly beautiful region of the Patagonian Andes, surrounded by a rich community, and a talented network of experienced permaculturists and natural builders. For three to 12 weeks you will live in the small temperate valley town, and surrounding area of El Bolsón as you immerse in permaculture design and practice, as well as natural building. With the intention of creating self-reliant systems, you will learn how and where to plant and place things so that functions and energy from each element serves multiple purposes. You will build structures with earth and other indigenous materials, learn about efficient heating systems, design solar and water systems, create organic gardens and orchards, understand food and toilet compost, participate in a collective public project and a personal apprenticeship, and share this experience with a small dedicated group that is as passionate as you.

During The Practicum you will:
-Gain your Permaculture Certificate during the full 72-hour Permaculture Design and Practicum Course.
-Create and implement an overall design at a demonstration site.
-Build an earthen outbuilding.
-Work at a gorgeous land-based community that sits on a pure glacial river.
-Engage in the collective design and creation of a public project that will serve as a sustainable model in the town.
-Deepen your skills in an area of your choice during a personal one-on-one apprenticeship.
Requested contribution covers tuition, meals & lodging. For people from cash-rich countries (United States, Europe, Australia, New Zealand, and others):
3-Week Trainings:
USD$950-$650 sliding scale (you decide what you can afford, please be generous)
12-Week Extended Permaculture Practicum:
USD$2,600
Partial participation will be pro-rated:
USD$350-$250 sliding scale per week.
