wow Ed... you are my kinda guy!!  this  sounds terriffic.. what about 
adding some pigment to the clay.. green or gold etc?

  I am betting the buff-tan color will still be the same unless a lot of 
pigment is added. I all my experiments with gold and greenish clays 
they all come out pretty tan at the end of the dry cycle.

I do want to see images..please email me off list or?? point to the 
uploads.

I would be happy to send you some of my gorgeous green clay  and 
Humboldt gold if you like


when you say panel..is it painted ONTO something or a solid mass? how 
thick?
