Art Ludwig has a very nice website, well worth exploring (if your computer
isn't bogged down by problems the way mine is right now--Not a virus
according to many scans to try to resolve it).

As far as wiring goes--first you have to decide what you want your wiring to
do. On the grid, off grid with all the comforts of home, two PL13 lights
and maybe the sundanzer refrigerator.

There is a 12v Yahoo group, by the way, if you want the extreme simplicity
option--the leader of that group has a nice newsletter, back issues
available on line. I believe I've noticed tutorials there on electricity
basics.

Here's the newsletter:

Note, though, in my county if you want grid electricity, you have to have a
septic tank. The only exceptions would be if you were wiring an existing
house without one.

I have been digging the foundation for my first earthbag dome since the
early part of June I am finally getting close to completing it. Although
the work was challenging i learned a lot about my site and my body during
that period of time.

Now its time to start learning about a few subjects that I have avoided
until now. Thats plumbing and wiring. I want to recycle my grey water and
plan to use sawdust toilets so i don't have to worry about a septic system
which i feel is wasteful and I have seen first hand how installing one can
tear up a beautiful forest floor. I had planned to read a book called "The
Oasis" whuich is about recycling your grey water but the local library can't
get the book for me and i can't afford to buy it right now.
