Too many questions, Bernhard, but thanks for the informative post.

What I do want to ask is if you would recommend the walnut equally as the 
linseed.

Also, why oil it at all if you can wax it?

And does the wax prevent future oilings for any known amount of time 
(presumably by preventing penetration)?
