[Cob] pumice in cob - any thoughts?

We may have the chance to acquire some pumice and were thinking about putting it in our cob walls to improve the R value. There isn't a lot of sun on the walls at present, so we are a bit borderline for cob anyways. Thinking that it might be worth improving the R value at the expense of a bit of thermal mass. Any thoughts or comments much appreciated, as always!
