[Cob] cordwood vs. cob drying

"Any input on drying time for cordwood vs cob?"

I'm not speaking from experience, but it seems to me the wood would
(!) draw moisture from the surrounding cob and dry it out faster. But
then again, the cob could draw the moisture out of the wood and crack
it. I feel that cordwood doesn't have a very long life span because
cut wood cracks in just a few weeks and is ready for splitting with
an ax. What makes it different if you build a wall with it?
