[Cob] next floor idea - peanuts

I considered peanuts, but I wanted to make sure the insulations stayed where
I wanted it. I also considered the corn starch insulation (more organic),
but figured it might get damp and fizz itself somewhere I least expected it,
leaving an airspace to collapse the floor later.

I just happened to have chunks of 1 in. when I was ready to do my
floor...left over from some large package I ordered. I think the important
thing is to make your floor mix dense and at least several inches thick so
that floor stays rigid and the insulation stays where you want it.

Anyone ever put Styrofoam peanuts over a gravel sub floor before putting
down a clay floor? Seems like it can't hurt the insulation quality.
