Raduazo,
	I agree with the speed of laying block, it is most definitely  
faster. But at the same time you've got to think about cement block  
mostly being air and only 8 inches thick. You don't get the mass with  
them as you do with cob. If you're looking for speed, try mixing your  
cob all at once with a rototiller and keeping it covered with a tarp  
until you need it. A tiller gets the job done fast as does a bobcat.
