Very cool. Thanks for the link. Fertile ground for active imaginations! -----Original Message----- From: coblist-bounces at deatech.com [mailto:coblist-bounces at deatech.com] On Behalf Of Dean Sherwin Sent: Tuesday, February 16, 2010 7:51 AM To: coblist at deatech.com Subject: [Cob] Organic insulation for cob? Here's an interesting article about growing fungus mycelium and using it for insulation and construction. (In Time magazine Feb 8) Wouldn't it be neat if it could be grown directly on earth or earth blocks and incorporated into earth walls. Looks like it could reinforce as well as insulate so would not weaken walls as other insulation would. Plus potentially could be home grown and an organic part of the building....just dreaming http://www.time.com/time/magazine/article/0,9171,1957474,00.html Dean Sherwin LEED Accredited Professional CONSTRUCTION COST MANAGEMENT 3, Cherry Street PO Box 11 Media, PA 19063-0011 (610)892 8860 fax (610) 892 7862 costman at verizon.net _______________________________________________ Coblist mailing list Coblist at deatech.com http://www.deatech.com/mailman/listinfo/coblist
