[Cob] Re-oiling an earthen floor?

Hiya all:

Recently, I had to re-install a portion of the floor in my home. The joint
is pretty clean, but after oiling the new portion of the floor, I can't
decide if I should oil the entire thing. The floor is only one year old, but
I do not want the new portion of floor to stand out how it does now.

If you re-finish an earthen floor (especially a fairly new one), how many
coats of oil would you give it? In what proportion?
