I have beautiful successful lime render floors. We dug down 200mm put
down 100mm stone, stamped it covered it with cardboard so the cob cant
get into the stone. 80mm cob and then to layers of lime render 20mm
When dry we oil with raw linseed oil and turps and bees wax in the last
layer 4 layers in all and the floors are lovely much gentler than
cement, warm in winter and cool in summer, look lovely and once sealed
dont chip. Personally wouldn't use tiles, to hard and cold and clinical.
Dropped two glass bowls on my floor last night neither broke didn't even
chip.
