Cob cavity wall insulation

Here's an idea for adding some insulation to a cob cavity wall. Cordwood
builders like Rob Roy use saw dust with a little bit of lime for
preservation as insulation between the cordwood walls they build. This
seems like a pretty low impact insulation material that would have better
insulation properties than light clay. Rob Roy's Earthwood Building School
has a web page at:

Not too many technical details but a good introduction to cordwood masonry
construction.
