I've just put copies of a couple of leaflets from the Devon Historic 
Buildings Trust on the web at http://www.chook.demon.co.uk/cob the first is 
4 pages - History, Building Methods and Conservation, the second is 8 pages 
- Repair and Maintenance.

I'm not sure how much of this will apply to those who are building new 
structures, but it's always nice to know what has worked in the past. 
 Though of course no record remains of what didn't, so for anything else 
you'll need an educated guess at what might have been tried and failed, and 
what they never even thought of; domes?
