Cob: indoor walls

Hello everyone,
Is there anyone who can confirm the prejudice that earthen indoor walls in
modern airthÃght houses make the indoor air too dry for humans and plants?
And that the walls get wet over time?
Could the latter be true when the earthen wall is covered with gypsum
plaster or fibreboards?
I can imagine that prejudice coming from old exterior walls after
"modernisation".
Any proven fact and gossip welcome, my theory books rather suggest the
opposite effect.
Thanks, Alex
