Hi
i am still in india,
i have bought my ticket back to europe , delhi-paris and i won free flight
paris london, so i will maybe visit the cob cottage.
in india they have differents technics :
- they do mix hearth, clay and a bit of straw, they use an old 5 liters
metallic bottle of oil like a mold, they cut the top and the bottom they use
the shape to make like big bricks. after, they make the walls with the big
bricks ( no cement between the bricks ) and to finish they put a plaster
with mud and cowshit or just cement.
next technics next time.
About wood conservation:
The traditionnal architecture in the south of the france is to make arch
instead of using a huge wood and 2 pillars. I think it's possible to mix
stone masonnery ( for woods saving ) and cob construction ( for the cement
saving and the fun ).
I think there is way to find to save the maximum of wood of the roof.
i will find.
