Matthew, there are two good resources with lots of research and results
already done.

One is Appropriate Building Materiials- every clay mehod from coiled
clay , wattle & daub, cob, to bamboo reinforced.  Written in the UK

the other is French, translated: Earth Construction- A Comprehensive
