The design I read about could be used as supplemental
heater (actually as a pre-heater, reducing water
heating fuel) in cold climate and as the primary in
warm climate. The front panel sits at a 45 degree
angle. set up in this configuration it operates off of
the existing water pressure of the house plumbing.
For use as a hydronic heater, pumps would definitely
be an asset (perhaps direct drive solar)...I am
suspecting that a carefully laid out system could
function from thermo-siphoning, but that would
certainly take some experimentation.

Myra!!) What is the 45 for? Are pumps needed for
this system or is it a gravity system?

"When I look into the abyss it stares back at me, but not as the cold
dark beast you perceive it to be.
When I am gazed upon by the abyss I see the eyes of a mother, a lover, an old friend.
When I look into the warm familiar eyes of the abyss I see that which
needs me as much as I have need.
I remember, I rejoice, I renew!"
