The design I read about could be used as supplemental heater (actually as a pre-heater, reducing water heating fuel) in cold climate and as the primary in warm climate. The front panel sits at a 45 degree angle. set up in this configuration it operates off of the existing water pressure of the house plumbing. For use as a hydronic heater, pumps would definitely be an asset (perhaps direct drive solar)...I am suspecting that a carefully laid out system could function from thermo-siphoning, but that would certainly take some experimentation. --- Yun Que <yunk88 at hotmail.com> wrote: <P>Is the tank a receptacle for heated water from the No.1 tank? Or are you getting additional heat from the sun? The 45% thermal pane (got it right this time Myra!!) What is the 45 for? Are pumps needed for this system or is it a gravity system? <snip> ===== "When I look into the abyss it stares back at me, but not as the cold dark beast you perceive it to be.
