Cob: Metal Roofing

Around here they seem to be the preferred new roof. My third nearest
neighbor just got one for his house, and I need to ask him about it.
Insurance companies may love metal roofs, but sometimes cities do not, by
the way.

But in general....I was looking at boneyard windows yesterday at a building
supply place in Lawrenceburg, they had a nice line--somebody who bills
themselves as "building supply" is more likely to have it than a "hardware
store" but both might. The 500 pound gorillas--Lowes, Home Depot can get
them for you, the agricultural Coop--if yours are like mine--has or can get
them for you. they're bulky and a bit hard to store, so mostly everybody
will ORDER them for you.

Run an on-line search, find what looks best, contact the company for the
nearest dealer. Quality of the local installer is important. At least one
company makes nicely insulated panels, I'll see if I can't dig out the link
later. Steel and aluminum are both available. Steel "sounds" better, but
aluminum can be thicker for the same weight.

Ok, I've lived mostly in the midwest and I don't belive I have EVER seen an
enameled metal roof - so I'm LOST! Where would I even look to find such a
beast????????????
