Howdy, I've been pretty innactive on this list for quite a while now, so
I'll reintroduce myself - I'm Toby, a structural engineering student at
UC Davis hoping to do research with cob in the next couple of years.
I am also the appropriate technology coordinator for the Whole Earth
Festival in Davis, CA. WEF is a free 3 day event over Mother's day
weekend that draws about 30,000 participants. We have 3 stages,
workshop spaces, education tables, vegetarian food an intensive
waste management team (approx 95% diversion & 5000 reusable
dishes), etc. This year's speaker's line-up includes Julia "Butterfly"
Hill, Utah Philips, Sue Maloney, Darryl Cherney, Robert Hass, Ram
Dass, Wavy Gravy, Jose Arguelles, Dineh Grandmothers and much
more!

So, back to cob... The reason that I am emailing the list is that I seem
to be falling a little short in providing the public with good
demos/workshops/speakers/tables, etc. regarding my favorite focus -
cob! I am unfortunately too busy organizing people to actually put
together a booth of my own, so I want to extend a huge invitation out
there that anyone who has a business, group, organization, literature
or otherwise wants to help educate the particpants of WEF about Cob
(or other natural building techniques) to please get in contact with
me. I want to work with you to get across your message. More info
about the Festival can be found at http://wef.ucdavis.edu

Incidentally, I can't imagine that responses regarding WEF would be
as facinating to the whole group (or as relevent to cob) as the Horse
Hair thread, so please email me back directly at
tcnewburgh at ucdavis.edu

Namaste
