Cob: Cob Castle in Australia

There is a wonderful hardback book showing hundreds of cob, clay, RE, 
and other earthen houses in Aussie land. have you heard of it?
Written by your kinsman Ted Howard,  from Eltham, it is called "Mud & 
Man"   a history of earth buildings in Australasia

Has lots of color photos too, but mostly B&W...... here is a link to my 
favorite cob castle, called Bear's Castle,  the legend has it in the 
1840's John Bear, a wealthy businessman  in Yan Yean Victoria, had to go 
away for a trip, his employees asked him what they should do while he 
was away..he said   "Build me a castle"

Ted only printed 1000 copies in 1992, and has few left,  Ianto Evans at 
Cob Cottage has some, they are pricey at over $40. but maybe you can 
find on near you in AU?
