Does anyone know about using hydraulic lime plaster on cob walls as
opposed to hydrated lime plaster??
____________

Cassandra where are you planning to use it in the US?
I know about using both. Hydraulic lime is dry and is mixed with water
and used immediately, it sets up like cement ( cement was invented to
mimic hydraulic actually)

There are a few sources in the US..St. Austier limes have a rep on each
coast. and one in NE (deGruchy Masonry) these limes are from France.

Texston is hydraulic and cement added limes improted from Israel.

this lime will stick beautifully to cob, adobe, cement, straw etc...it
is just pricey, but gives a fast early set. Ideal for late season use,
or wher the first coat needs to begin protecting right away.

Hydrated lime will also work beautifully, and costs far less...you owuld
limewash the walls eaither way, before applying lime plaster, and thin
coats of hydrated plaster will begin to air cure quickly too. but time
is needed (month) between coats for better results.
