[Cob] Using discarded carpet

I like the idea of using old carpet for other things. 
In looking over different wattle and daub and
plastering ideas, I have seen ideas using burlap and
reed mats.  Could it be possible to use carpet soaked
or heavily coated in lime-clay or other plaster?  What
about making wall board of it using cement, then
plastering with earthen plaster?  I could see a spray
on application as well.  If anyone is or has
experimented with this, could you let me know.  I plan
to try this very soon.  Could it be used in a tube for
concrete piers?  Time to do some dumster diving!
