I would agree that there is absolutely no concrete nessesary in the construction of a rubble trench and stone foundation.  well laid stone needs no glue, look at entire houses constructed of stone with no cement.  secondly, if water is so omnipresent in the soil around the foundation siteing may be the real issue.  just two cents...
