[Cob] Glass impregnated wood timbersAmanda Peck ap615 at hotmail.comSat Nov 12 08:31:20 CST 2005
There's something like that widely advertised in things like Fine Homebuilding. Not "glass" but the chemical stew that makes up fiberglass, most likely. Don't have a copy handy, but it's usually one column wide, the depth of the page, on the right side, and there's quite a bit of yellow in the ad. ................. The timbers were coated with a glass product of some type, heated to a point where the glass melted into the wood and provided a protective coating that could be stained - perhaps painted, too. Would like to learn more about this product.
