I generally agree with Shody, but if you have a reason to cut the tree, you
might want to contact Michael Smith, of Emerald Earth in Booneville, CA,
where there has been a lot of redwood construction combined with bale, cob,
straw clay.  Contact me off-list for more info.  You aren't too far from
there, from your phone number, and EE is a wonderful place to visit or work
for a day or three to gather much wisdom about how to do everything related
to natural building and community living.
