[Cob] RE: Oiling Cob

Petroleum was living plant/animal, etc, long ago, yet
it is placed in a separate category from freshly made
oil because petroleum doesn't go rancid.
Linseed oil is perhaps the most delicate oil and
orange essential oil is perhaps the most delicate
essential oil.
Could it be that they go through the process of
rancidity, brake down and stabilization at an
acceptably fast rate (faster than other options)?
