The "deep south" would be those states along the gulf
(humid), Louisiana, Alabama, Mississippi and perhaps
Georgia. Tennessee does border Ms, but the weather is a
little different there, probably not quite as humid.
I was born here and lived across the US, moved back about
10 yrs ago. I am building an above ground storm "shelter",
a small round thick walled cob structure. Unfortunately,
for a lot of us, the deep south is at the bottom on the
economic ladder most of the time. There are lot of mobile
homes in the south, and we have a lot of tornados and loss
of life. The people who need low cost homes the most, like
cob building, cannot afford to travel to take the $$$
workshops.
